A funny thing happened last night. I had just gotten off the bus when a thought occurred to me. Though in fact I think it had been forming for a while.
I had started a blog when I first arrived in Korea some 10 months ago, or 10 moons ago. At first I posted quite often but quite* quickly I became bored of it. And it had somehow managed to translate itself in Korean which didn’t help at the time since I couldn’t even read 한글.
I procrastinated about chronicling my experiences here mainly because I thought no-one would bother reading them anyway. But now I realise that it does not matter whether this is read by anyway. If it is read, and hopefully enjoyed then that is great. If not, then at least there will be something on record to show my experiences here. But, just as the heroes of old did things worthy to be written, I too will strive to write things worthy to be read.
I am writing this now because every life, no matter how insignificant it may seem to be, is worthy of being recorded. For whether we realise it or not, we all leave something behind. And more importantly, we change the lives of those we meet on our journey. The great question is; does their world become a little better or a little worse?
All I ask for is this,
“O Muse, tell my tale to those who ask.
Tell it truly, the evil deeds along with the good.
And let me be judged accordingly.”
