Obama Bows to Saudi King

I was watching Obama’s speech in Prague a few days back. Finally, an American president that can make a coherent sentence. Even though I’m not an American (though I really REALLY need to go there one of these days) I feel inspired about what can be achieved with global cooperation. I think he has done [...]

News in Brief

Some is fresh like that weak brew coffee we have, some is aged to perfection.

* Spain is pressing the USA over torture charges for 6 former high level Bush-ites who provided the legal framework to justify torture. The birthpace of the Inquisition supposes to lecture the land of the free and home of the brave [...]

Going Galt? Just try it.

After much heeing and hawing over federal earmarks (which amount to roughly 2% of the total stimulus package and hence are grounds to block the bailout money from stimulating the US economy), conservatives have found a new messiah; say goodbye to Reagan and a big HELLO to Ayn Rand. Up and away…

The Dow Jones rose 5%!!! But calm down, the end is not here yet. The index has sunk so low there really was no where else to go but up. Kinda like the world’s jubilation over Obama’s election, following Bush.
In other news, a man caught entering a woman’s home has pleaded an interesting defense,
“I was [...]

Rebranding

What a week! I was watching the Obama Inauguration speech again. The similarities between this speech and Bush’s for his second term are striking. Check it out.(about 10 minutes in).
Also felt odd listening to all these mentions of the divine. Kinda like “My God is better than your God!” blah blah blah.

In a previous post, I explained why most of China’s economic rescue package was aimed at public works and infrastructure. Seems that great minds do think alike. Here is the article from the Washington Post.
George W. Bush is [...]

Feel the Change

Obama has named his new staff for when he comes into his full powers in January. Some surprises, even for me. It is a ‘team of rivals’. I earnestly pray that we will not hear that phrase ever again. I prefer ‘team of arch-nemeses’ (thank you Jon Stewart). From his selection thus far, don’t be [...]
